The pain remained in the heart

From being called an opportunist by the class to even questioning his secularism, many questions were raised in the industry. However, according to Vikrant, people in the industry have accepted his talent. Vikrant says, ‘After Twelfth Fail, the thinking of the people in the industry towards me has changed a lot. Today, at least the doors of the people with whom I want to work are open for me. However, there is no pressure of this success. If there was pressure, I would not have come up with films like Sector 36 or The Sabarmati Report.’

On doing films on burning issues in the future, Vikrant says, ‘The experience of The Sabarmati Report has left a pain in my heart. I would not like to do something like this in the near future. Our effort was to bring a true story to the fore. After that, the negative reactions of some people did not make me happy at all. I have a liberal thinking in real life, I do not just go by labels. I believe that as much as I have the right to tell my story, the other person has the same right to give his reaction.’ Vikrant will be seen in Rajkumar Hirani’s web series in the coming days.
