The first name in this is Anubhav Sinha’s web series IC 814: The Kandahar Hijack, based on the Kandahar hijack. It was controversial for replacing the terrorists with Hindu names and for presenting some facts in a distorted manner. Netflix India’s content head Monica Shergill had to approach the Indian Ministry of Information and Broadcasting and later the show’s opening disclaimer was changed to include both the real and code names of the hijackers. The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India filed a defamation case against Netflix and the makers over the name of the web series Tribhuvan Mishra CA Topper and the portrayal of the topper shown in it, but the Delhi High Court dismissed it. Dhanush sent a legal notice to Nayanthara for using a three-second clip from Dhanush’s film Naanum Rowdy Dhaan in the documentary series Nayanthara.
