Everyone should know cooking

Actress Sanya Malhotra, who appeared in the film Sam Bahadur and Jawan last year, is constantly playing diverse roles. Now she will be seen in the film Mrs. This film is an official remake of the 2021 Malayalam film A Great Indian Kitchen. The story of the film is about a woman who is a trained dancer, but after marriage her world is limited to home and kitchen. This film was recently screened at the International Film Festival of India held in Goa.

Sanya says that when I was offered this film, I decided at once that I have to do it. This was a story that I wanted to tell as an artist. We have seen a character like Richa around. She is somewhere within us. This film talks about bringing change in the traditional thinking and attitude towards the roles of men and women.

In real life, Sanya has been brought up in an environment where she has got the freedom to live her dreams. She has got the support of her parents. The world of Richa’s character in ‘Mrs.’ was quite different from that. Sanya says that we are fortunate to get a chance to live our dreams. This applies not only to women but also to men. It is not right to set the roles of men and women in a certain format. If we share responsibilities equally, life can become very easy.

Sanya also got a lot of opportunities to cook in the film. Sanya says that in one scene, we had to make roti. There was a chef on the set with us. He did not let one roti rise, the second did not rise, and the third did not rise either. There was a close-up of roti. I had to make roti in it. So I said that I can do this work easily. I made a puffed roti in one go. I know how to cook. I believe that knowing how to cook is an important task in life. (Laughs) Since childhood, I have been fond of cooking something and feeding it to my mother.
