Actor Akshay Oberoi also does traditional activities like lighting diyas and performing pooja on Diwali with his family. Talking about following the tradition, actor Akshay says, ‘In childhood, there is a tradition of buying new clothes on Diwali, but we reuse a lot of clothes. That is, we will wear the same clothes this Diwali that we wore last Diwali. We don’t buy many clothes in normal life either. I don’t know if this tradition is in our family, but our thinking is a little different.
The important thing is that all the family members get together on Diwali.’ It is said to celebrate eco-friendly Diwali. Regarding ensuring this, Akshay says, ‘The company in which my wife works works in this direction. If everything in our house is not eco-friendly, then my wife gets irritated. So we take great care of the environment in our personal life as well. We do not use plastic items. This should be done every day, not just on Diwali.’
